My granddaughter named this tree my “hoarder” tree. Perhaps this tree represents Christmas for many of us.
But most of us aren’t willing to carry our cross everyday. We don’t understand that it is the cross that shapes us into the kind of person we long to be.

Many people go through life without their father’s blessing. Who can understand the pain when a father fails to show or give his love to his child?
This election year gave evidence of the lack of hope in our nation. The same can be said around the world. People live from day to day without hope that tomorrow will bring anything good to their lives.
The influence of humility is perhaps more powerful than any other attribute. We notice humble people.
I walked by the Tennessee River this week, and that alone is a reason to be thankful.
